Before you ask
- Your child's data is safe. Every account only sees its own data, enforced at the database level. We never sell data, and practice videos are stored privately.
Getting started
What is Woodshed?
An AI-assisted practice app. Your teacher logs a quick note after each lesson and Woodshed turns it into a guided week of practice you do on your phone.
Do I need a teacher to use it?
No. Students with a teacher get plans from their teacher. Solo students get an AI-built week from their own weekly check-in.
What instruments does it support?
Any. The plan is built from your teacher's notes and your goals, not a fixed curriculum.
Can I use it without an instrument?
Yes. Choose "No instrument" when you sign up and Woodshed builds your week from music theory and ear training instead. Everything is done by listening, reading, and writing, so you never need an instrument to hand.
How practice works
Is the practice written by AI?
Yes, and your teacher reviews and edits it before you see it. The teacher is always the final authority.
Can I use the tuner / metronome / ear training on their own?
Yes. The Practice section has ear training, theory drills, and a real-time tuner you can use any time.
