Plain English, because you should be able to read this. Using Woodshed means you agree to what's below.
Who can use it
You need to be 13 or older to have your own Woodshed login. Younger students can absolutely use Woodshed — through a teacher or parent, who sets up and manages the account and is responsible for it.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has it. You're responsible for what happens under your login.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. If you're a teacher, that deletes your students' records too — see Privacy.
Lessons are generated by AI
Woodshed uses AI to write practice plans and lesson content. It is usually good and it is sometimes wrong. It does not replace a teacher, and it has no idea what your hands are doing.
Use judgment, especially about anything physical. If an exercise hurts, stop. Pain is not something to practice through, and no plan Woodshed writes is worth an injury.
What you put in
Your lesson notes, recordings you upload and anything else you write stay yours. You give us permission to store and process it only so far as running the app requires — showing it to your teacher, generating your plan, tracking your progress.
Fair use
Please don't:
- share an account between people who should each have their own;
- upload anything you don't have the right to;
- try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service;
- use it to harass anyone.
We may suspend accounts doing any of that.
What we don't promise
Woodshed is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will never be down, never lose data, or never be wrong. Keep your own copy of anything you'd be upset to lose.
Changes
If these terms change materially, we'll tell you in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
